The Foreign and Commonwealth Dinner
On the evening of Thursday 25th April, The Foreign and Commonwealth dinner commemorated the 70th anniversary of the creation of the Commonwealth in 1949 with just 8 nations. Today, the Commonwealth has 53 member nations comprising of more than 2.4 billion people. The Commonwealth is a microcosm of the multiculturalism and ethnic diversity of the UK.
Rt. Hon Jeremy Hunt MP was in attendance. He spoke about the fact that the UK is a country and a society where people of any nationality, ethnicity or race feel at home. They are accepted as part of what makes the UK the multicultural melting pot it is today. He applauded the fact that “Conservatives uphold the values of a multi-cultural society and the fact that communities from the world have made Britain their home is a testament to British Conservative values of open society.”
The multiculturalism and ethnic diversity of the UK were on display at this event.
Rami Ranger, CBE, presided at the dinner and was joined by Brandon Lewis MP,Tom Tugendhat MP, Tony Lit MBE of Sunrise Radio and our MD Manish Tiwari.
