Belgium a land of opportunity for British South Asian businesses
With the uncertainty of Brexit looming over Britain – the Belgium government in a progressive step forward, organised an exclusive business briefing with key South Asian businesses in the UK to discuss trade opportunities. Pierre-Yves Jeholet, who is the State Secretary for Economy Industry, Research and Innovation along with the Belgium Embassy briefed South Asian owned businesses at a round table discussion on the opportunities available.
Belgium has always had a special relationship with the sub-continent, with Belgium being India’s eighth largest trading partner and India being the second largest importer to Belgium. Case in point is Antwerp’s booming diamond market, which has its roots in India. So, it was only just for Belgium to showcase it’s opportunities to South Asian businesses in the UK and encourage trade post Brexit. At the end of the event Mr Jeholet thanked Amarjit Singh of the India Business Group and Manish Tiwari, Managing Director, Here and Now 365 in making this a fruitful event.
Talking about the event Manish said: “The round table conversation with the Embassy of Belgium was highly productive and is a showcase of how a country’s business pitch should be. The conversation and intent was progressive and it is imperative for nations and businesses to work together to relocate and reinvent themselves based on the opportunities available. The focus was on how together we can be true partners in this increasingly globalized world.”
