HDFC India Homes Fair 2013

This weekend saw the 6th HDFC India Homes Fair at the prestigious Hilton Metropole in central London.

As the agency responsible with organisation and promotion of the event, this year we are proud to deliver the largest fair to date with over a 4000 people attending, over 1000 signing up to the database and around 50 property exhibitors.

We ran an all encompassing, multi-channel promotional campaign which involved advertisements in a range of print titles such as the Metro, City AM, The Wharf and the Evening Standard, alongside 9 ethnic press outlets. We also ran complimentary advertisements across 13 television channels, 4 Asian radio stations, outdoor space (phone boxes, promo bikes, tube adverts), outreach strategy (leaflets, brochures flyers distributed in key locations) and digital marketing through email, social media and online banner ads.

The two day expo was inaugurated by Mrs. Renu Sud Karnad (Managing Director of HDFC Ltd) and Baroness Sandip Verma who cut the red ribbon and set light to the inaugural lamp.

The event brought together the top 45 Indian property dealers and developers, all under one roof, as over 1000 prospective buyers sought out the most exclusive developments India has to offer.

Baroness Verma, currently serving as a Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Department of Energy and Climate Change was keen to ask the exhibitors if the developments are ecologically sustainable, learning that all present companies had environmental policies in place. She also inquired about mortgage opportunities for first-time buyers and young families.

There were a significant number of buyers who were quick to sign up to the offers exclusive to the fair as they looked to invest in property while continuing to live and work in the UK. For those who decided to make a pre-emptive deal on a home, they benefitted from up to 10 percent discounts in some cases, as well as a number of other perks. Whether it was to learn more about the Indian property market, the various rates available, or looking for a deal on a piece of real estate, everyone got something out of it. Needless to say HDFC mortgage specialists were there ready with documents and hand calculators to provide bespoke packages to every interested attendee.

“It’s the best place to look for a property in India if you live in the UK and many people feel that talking face-to-face is the best way to go about it in such important matters as buying a home,” said Imran, who was there to probe the market and assess his options for a new house later this year.

The event wrapped up late on Sunday evening after a busy and exciting weekend. It’s always a pleasure working in conjunction with HDFC and we’re looking forward to next year’s home fair.
