The Grand NDTV Good Times Launch

It’s great to announce yet another successful event – the big UK launch party of NDTV Good Times – India’s first lifestyle channel. All the time, our team was working behind the scenes at The Courtyard 51 Buckingham Gate to pull off the perfect event.

As India’s premier lifestyle TV channel, NDTV Good Times is already commanding huge NRI audiences in the UK since it went on air on Virgin Media last December. However, the black tie evening in association with main sponsor DVK and associate sponsor State Bank of India was an opportunity to formally unveil the channel among industry people.

The launch read like a Who’s Who List. Guests included Vice President of Somaliland H.E. Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail Saylici, Somaliland’s  Minister of National Planning Dr. Saad Shire, CEO of Hero Honda Mr. Munjal, SBI Regional UK Head Mr. Mahapatra, Virgin Media Director of Content and Acquisition Emma Jones, and adman and theatre personality Suhel Seth.

Ambika Anand, a well-known anchor and fashion editor at the channel hosted the event and introduced the acts. Classically-trained singer-songwriter Ambika Jois, with axeman Moshen Tufail, was the opening act. Her style – a unique fusion of popular Bollywood songs with Jazz and soul music. Next came a flash mob inspired dance performance by the Enuki troupe. Many guests joined in the flash mob unprompted.

The showstealer however, was a surpise appearance by Bappi Lahiri – Bollywood’s most flamboyant and beloved gold-laden music icon! An on-site caricaturist was a big hit with the guests, who included celebrities, corporate leaders, royals and even heads of state.

All in all, it was great to see the 100 plus VIPs and media guests enjoy the evening – not to forget the fabulous performances, delicious canapes and the ‘Good Cocktail’ specially created by Foodistan celebrity chef Manish Mehrotra.

It’s been a pleasure and honour for our ethnic media agency to help with the organisation of a dazzling event that brought elite guests together under the auspices of aspirational television
