Even Scotland Yard has seen the importance of targeted communications to make communities feel a part of Britain by communicating in their own language.

Just last year it was announced that Polish was the second most popular language in the UK following English. And now the Met has started a pilot programme by two Polish-speaking officers based in Hounslow and Ealing under the handle @MPPolska.

PC Magdalena Rosiak said: “Overcoming language barriers is key when talking to people in local communities.”

Accounts in other languages such as Romanian could be launched if it is successful.

Here and Now 365 has always prided itself for promoting multiculturalism and celebrating the ethnic diversity of the UK.
